It is intimated that the industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 both valid upto 30.06.2016 with main conditions that:-
1. Either the industry shall submit the completion certificate to the effect that the wet cap of new furnace is as per the design of PSCST or shall make adequate stack/sampling arrangements for wet cap and submit the analysis report accordingly before considering its case for long term consents.
Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Thereafter, the industry was visited by the officer of this office on 13.07.2016 and observed that:-
1. The industry is engaged in the process of casting with cupola furnace.
2. The industry was not in operation during the visit and is engaged in the process of making moulds during the visit.
3. The industry has two no. cupola furnace with wet cap as APCD as per design of PSCST.
4. The industry has not provided any DG set.
5. The industry has provided re-circulation tank for re-circulation of cooling water.
6. The industry has already deposited the requisite consent fees.
7. The industry was raised clarification to submit the completion certificate to the effect that the wet cap of new furnace is as per the design of PSCST. However the industry failed to submit the same till date. Further the industry failed to provide make adequate stack with wet cap as per the special condition.
In view of the above, it is recommended that show cause notice of refusal of consents to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry, please
