RO has submitted consent cases under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and has reported that the industry has submitted a letter issued by MTP, Amritsar vide its office letter no. 484 dated 2/6/2016 in which it reported that the site of industry falls under Industrial Zone as per notified Master Plan of Amritsar (2010-2031). The industry has also submitted a building plan approved by the authorized person of Director of Factories, Chandigarh. The industry was visited on 1/7/2016 and observed that:- 1. The industry is engaged in the process of manufacturing of plastic granules from the waste plastic scrap. 2. The industry has installed extruder, Mixer, Grinding machine & Cutter for the production. 3. Small washing tank which exists earlier in the premises was found dismantled and no washing of waste plastic scrap seen at the time of visit. 4. Domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
RO has recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 30/6/2021 with special condition that the industry will not involve itself into the washing of plastic scrap without the prior permission of the Board and not into the production of plastic carry bags.
The industry has submitted undertaking that it is using first waste of virgin plastic.
so if approved, consent may be granted as recommended by Regional Office Amritsar with the condition that the industry shall not use waste plastic and shall use only first waste of virgin plastic and shall not discharge any trade effluent process/air emissions at any time and shall not manufacture plastic carry bags.
