It is intimated that the industry is small scale, orange category unit.
(file no. 581) The industry was given personal hearing before SEE on 17.11.2015 wherein ts was decided as under:-
1. The industry proponent shall applied for consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 as amended in 1988 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as amended in 1987 within 07-days.
2. The Environmental Engineer Regional office shall verify the facts at site and process the consent application on merit.
The industry has now applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981. The industry is operation from November 1997, the industry has deposited fees from 01.04.2010 as per fee waiver policy of the Board. The industry has deposited Rs. 9800/- R.No. 95/4248 dated 04.07.2016 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs 9800/- vide R. NO 96/4248 dated 14.7.2016 under Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 900/- vide R.N. 97/4248 dated 04-07-2016 as NOC regularization fees which is adequate upto 30.09.2021.
The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 08.07.2016 and it was observed that the industry was in operation. The industry has installed 1 no. copula furnace with wet cap as APCD. . The industry has already submitted completion certificate of its wet cap vide PSCST letter no. 3909 dated 26.02.2004. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation. Entire cooling water is being re-circulated. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of Factories, Punjab. The industry has submitted letter from Dsitt. Town Planner, Kapurthala vide no. 51 dated 14-01-2016 mentioning that site of industry falls in industrial zone.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2021 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board. (Competency Environment Engineer).
