The industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R14SASCTOW1177371 dated 12/05/2014, which was valid upto 30/06/2015 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. R14SASCTOA1177247 dated 12/05/2014, which was valid upto 30/06/2015 for screening-cum-washing plant. Thereafter, the industry had applied for renewal of consent under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which were refused vide no. R14SASCTOW3026850 dated 02/12/2015 and R14SASCTOA3026837 dated 02/12/2015 respectively as the industry was not complying with the code of practice framed for screening/ washing plants.
Now, the industry has again applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The industry had already deposited Rs. 26400/- vide common R. No. 12/3967 dated 7/5/2014 (Rs. 13200/- under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 13200/- under Air Act, 1981), which was adequate upto 30/09/2019 as per Board's new circular dated 18.07.2013. The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 23/07/2016 and the compliance of code of practice framed for screening plant is given in agenda note.
In view of above, it is recommended that the show cause notice under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing.
