No. R.O-II/LDH/CON/IND/1234 Recommendations : It is intimated that the industry is small scale zinc plating unit.
Earlier the industry was given hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer on 11.07.2016. The proceedings of the hearing were issued to the industry namely K.I. International, B-21, 7221/1, St. No. 19, Daba Road, New Janta Nagar, Ludhiana, wherein it was decided as under:-
1. The industry will not operate water polluting process.
2. Regional Office will seal the zinc plating section and pickling section immediately.
Now, the industry applied for fresh consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 alongwith documents through OCMMS in the name and style of M/s K.I International (India), Plot No. - 7226, St.No-19, New Janta Nagar,Daba Road, Ludhiana.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE of this office on 27.07.2016 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation & engaged in manufacturing of cycle parts by using C.R. Sheets involving zinc plating process.
2. The industry has signed agreement with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana @ 3000 Ltr/M for the treatment & disposal of trade effluent generated from process.
3. The industry has provided new water meter on pipeline leading to the wet processing area.
4. The industry has provided storage tank having of capacity app. 2000 liters for storage of its trade effluent.
5. The industry has started to maintain the record of water consumed in the process area and effluent lifted to M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
6. Only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
7. During the visit, the representative of the industry has informed that the industry is operating at plot no. 7226, St.No-19, New Janta Nagar,Daba Road, Ludhiana.
8. The industry is commenced from April, 2007 as per SSI certificate submitted by the industry.
9. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of Factories, PB.
10. The industry has submitted certificate issued by ATP, M.C, Ludhiana vide letter no. 63/ATP-C dated 09/02/2014 stating that the unit has been granted permission to operate upto August, 2018 for continuation of existing unit for industrial purposes u/s 79 of PRTP&D Act, 1995.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that the consents under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2018 with usual conditions & special condition that, “The industry shall shift its unit in designated area as per provisions of Master Plan of Ludhiana (2007-21).”.
