It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, which was valid upto 08.10.2016 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 18.06.2012. Now, the industry has applied for consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board. The industry has deposited consent fee of Rs. 40875/- vide r.no. 75/4324 dated 10.10.2016 as Air consent fee, Rs. 22500/- vide r.no. 73/4324 dated 10.10.2016 as water consent fee and Rs. 500/- vide receipt No. 74/4324 dated 10.10.2016 as an application form fee. The consent fee deposited by the industry are adequate upto 30.06.2021.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 12.10.2016 and observed as under:- 1) Sh. Charan Singh, proprietor was available at the time of visit. The industry is a rice shelling unit with dryer furnace and both were not in operation during the visit. The representative available during the visit informed that the unit is to be restarted shortly.
1) The industry has already provided septic tank for the treatment of domestic effluent generated.
2) The industry has already provided individual cyclone each with its rice shelling unit and dryer furnace. During visit, maintenance work of machinery as well as other parts were going on at site.
3) The industry has already extended the dia of husk discharge pipe and has provided sampling arrangements with pre-cleaner and dryer section.
4) The industry has already having wall of 15 height in front of the husk discharge point'and above the wall, the industry has also provided a jali of height approx. 3', which is adequate.
5) The industry has already provided brick approach road in its premises.
From above, it is clear that the industry is complying the code of practices and conditions of consent granted under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
In view of above it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the rice sheller upto 30.06.2021 with suitable conditions.
