The industry was given personal hearing at Regional Office, Bathinda on 09.03.2017, which was attended by Sh. Vinod Singla, Prop. of industry and he submitted written reply that all the points shortcomings observed during the visit have been attended.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by undersigned on 12.03.2017 to check the compliance made by the industry and observed as under:-
• The rice sheller unit was in operation for production of raw rice / sorted rice without dryer (as per its requirement) and has erected cyclone as APCD with paddy cleaner of dryer section, for which ID fan has now been provided to connect all the dust- emitting points with the APCD.
• The industry has installed cyclone as APCD with shelling section to contain the process emissions and the same was in line with dust emitting points connected to the APCD. The industry has provided stack of adequate height with the APCD and provisions to facilitate emission sampling.
• The industry has provided brick wall of adequate length with 10' height around husk discharge / storage area and wind screen of MS of 5’ height has been provided above the said wall.
• The industry has provided brick paving at movement area of vehicles, within its premises to prevent the generation of dust emissions.
• The industry has provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent from toilet section of office block with provision to discharge onto land for irrigation/plantation.
• The industry has planted trees / saplings along its boundary wall.
The industry has also deposited consent fee of Rs. 4125/- each vide UTR Nos. SBIN717073938883 & SBIN717073941585 dt. 14.03.2017 in addition to already deposited consent fee of Rs. 2625/- each under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 to make it adequate upto 30.09.2021 under orange category.
In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the rice sheller unit of capacity 2 TPH raw rice / sorted raw rice with dryer for a period upto 30.09.2021 subject to the suitable terms and condition.
