Earlier the industry was granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 vide no. ZO-II/LDH /RO-IV/WPC/2011-12/F-347 dated 08.08.2011 valid upto 07.02.2012 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. ZO-II/LDH /RO-IV/APC/2011-12/F-322 dated 08.08.2011 valid upto 07.02.2012. Now, the industry has applied for renewal of 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited by officers of this office on 24.03.2017 & observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in manufacturing of package drinking water & carbonated water.
2. Domestic effluent is used onto land for plantation after septic tank.
3. Ro reject water drains directly onto land for plantation
4. The cooling water used in the process is re-circulated.
5. Industry has now provided rain water harvesting system for the roof top water.
6. The industry has provided a diesel fired baby boiler with adequate stack height which was not in operation during visit.
7. The industry has installed 1 no. D.G set of capacity 62.5 KVA, which is without canopy and found disconnected (not in operational condition).
8. The industry has submitted building plan prepared by Competent Person approved under Punjab Factory Act.
9. The industry is mentioned at Sr. no. R.O-I/LDH/WA/733 in the inventory maintained by Regional Office-1, Ludhiana.
10. The industry is complying with the previous consent conditions granted to the industry under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
11. The competency to grant the consents lies with Sr. Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana.
In view of the above, it is recommended that 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be renewed to the industry upto 30.09.2019 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
