It is submitted that Board vide letter no. SEE(HQ-II)/2015/30097 dt. 16.07.2015 (copy attached) has requested Central Pollution Control Board to clarify the standards to be applicable on the standalone grinding plants, however no reply has been received in the Board till date. The matter was discussed with Er. Simarjeet Goyal (SEE, HQ-II) telephonically and he discussed the matter with the Central Pollution Control Board and they informed verbally that standalone cement industries are required to achieve the emissions standards prescribed for the rotary kilns. In this case, the industry has achieved the SPM level 39 mg/Nm3 against the prescribed standards of 30 mg/Nm3.
If approved, advice may be given to this office regarding the emission standards to be implemented on the standalone kilns. Further, the consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry for a period upto 30.06.2021 with suitable conditions.
