It is intimated that earlier the site the BKO was visited 3.12.2016 as the brick was not applied for renewal of consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 which has been expired on 31.03.2016 and observed that the brick kiln was not in operation. As informed by the representative of the brick kiln that the brick kiln was not operated since last two years. According, the report was sent to Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana to take action against the brick kiln. The Zonal Office was requested to this office vide letter no. 2817 dated 09.05.2017 to contact the owner of the brick kiln to ensure, whether it is permanently closed. If the BKO not obtained consent then inform to District Controller, Food, Civil Supply & Consumer Affairs, Ludhiana that brick kiln is running without consent to operate from the Board, so the licence not be renewed. This office was contacted to the owner of the brick kiln on 23.05.2017 & informed accordingly. Sh. Parveen Kumar, Prop. Of the brick kiln committed to apply for renewal of consent to operate immediately for short period due recession in the field of brick kiln. The BKO has already installed a gravity chamber as per drawing & design of PSCST Chandigarh with adequate stack height. The BKO has planted more plants along the boundary wall and has stabilized its road with keri.
Now the brick kiln has been applied on OCMMS for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 with requisite documents and consent fee for Rs. 5000/- vide R.No. 05/4741 dated 26.05.2017 under Air Act including Form fee which is adequate for 05 years i.e. upto 31.03.2021. As per DTP certificate in which intimated that earlier the brick kiln was on lease and now the brick will be operated by the owners of the land and NOC is issued to the brick kiln. Further intimated that the site of the brick kiln is falls in Agriculture zone and brick kiln is allowed to its operation in this zone.
Now, Environment Clearance from the competent Authority for mining of brick earth will not be pre-requisite for obtaining consent to operate vide HO Patiala’s order no. 346 dated 01.08.2016 and the Board can be grant the consent to operate to the brick kiln for 10 years or for the period owner of the brick kiln want to obtained and deposited adequate consent fee for such period under orange category.
May if approved, consent under Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the brick kiln up to 30.09.2020.
