Earlier, the industry was given PH before SEE on 11.05.2017, wherein it was decided that :- 1. The Regional Office Hoshiarpur shall visit the industry and verify the facts at site 2. The consent application be decided after the receipt of report from Regional Office Hoshiarpur. Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE Pooja Sharma on 30.05.2017 and observed that now the industry has partially covered the burnt activated carbon with the layer of soil. The industry has provided wall of 4 ft. on the road side to control the particles of the activated carbon during sun drying and as per stack emission analysis report the conc. of PM is 112 mg/Nm3 and 118 mg/Nm3 which is within the prescribed limit. The industry has provided sheets on the wall of the screening section and provided cladding on the pulverizing & dryer section. The industry has removed vat, which was earlier used for the washing of activated carbon. EE RO recommended that consent may be granted for further one year with condition that the industry will comply with code of practices for active carbon units.
