The industry was earlier granted consent under Water Act, 1974 LDH/EE-I/GC/Water/F-1229 dated 29.08.2008 upto 01.03.2012 extended upto 22.10.2019 vide letter no. 1377 dated 02.03.2012 and Air Act, 1981 LDH/EE-I/GC/Air/F-1101 dated 29.08.2008 upto 01.03.2012 extended upto 22.10.2019 vide letter no. 1377 dated 02.03.2012 both valid upto 31.12.2016 under green category for production of Bi-Cycle Coaster Brake hubs & its Parts @ 3000 nos/day. The fixed assets of the industry have increased from 79.52 Lacs to 148 Lacs. The industry has submitted that the increase in assets is due to automation and purchase of new electric rotary furnace and the production capacity is not effected by the increase. The industry has submitted the NOC regularization fees for the same.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 through OCMMS system under red category.
To verify the facts, the industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 15.06.2017 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and is engaged in manufacturing of bicycle components.
2. The industry has installed one no. new electric rotary furnace for heat treatment of cycle parts. The industry has submitted a bill of electric furnace purchase dated 14.05.2017, which is taken as the date for the commencement of the red category process in calculating the fees.
3. The industry has provided one no. DG set with canopy and adequate stack height.
4. The industry has installed CNC machines and power presses in the rest of its premises.
5. There is no source of trade effluent generation, cooling water is re-circulated and domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
6. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of factories, Punjab.
7. The industry is located in designated industrial area i.e. Phase-7, Focal Point, Ludhiana.
In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2021 to the industry, please.
