It has been observed that the marriage palace has mentioned the quantity of domestic effluent as 4 KLD only against capacity to hold function of 400 persons i.e. 10 litres/person/day. The oil & grease traps and septic tank have also been designed for maximum flow of 5 KLD only, whereas, in the cases of marriage palace, the quantity of domestic effluent is considered as about 40 litres/ person/day. The marriage palace has also not installed water meter with the source of water supply. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur has not properly scrutinized the case regarding above.
Keeping in view of the above, if approved: -
1. Consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the project proponent for six months with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and additional condition that :
i. The project proponent will obtain permission from the Central Ground Water Authority for abstraction of ground water, within six months.
ii. The project proponent shall provide water meter at the source of water supply within one month and shall maintain proper record of the reading, so as to adjudge the quantity of water used and effluent discharged.
iii. The project proponent will provide adequate oil & grease trap unit followed by well-designed septic tank and will install STP within a period of six months after the treatment methodology is finalized by the Board.
iv. The Management of the Marriage Palace will not allow the DJ parties/owners to operate their DJ sets or any other sound system from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. The Management will display the permissible timings and noise limits as provided in the guidelines at prominent places in the Marriage Palace immediately.
2. The electric connection of the marriage palace may also be restored temporarily for six months and Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur may be asked to verify the quantity of domestic effluent discharged by the marriage palace alongwith adequacy of oil & grease traps and septic tank, for taking further necessary action please.
