It is intimated that the industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 before the Chairman of the Board on 04.05.2017, wherein, it was decided that:-
1. The industry will comply with water/air pollution control norms within 10 days.
2. The industry will raised the stack height of D.G. set within 10 days.
3. The industry will complete the laying of pipe distribution network for proper application of treated effluent onto land for irrigation.
4. Regional Office will verity the compliance after 15 days.
Accordingly, the was visited by AEE of this office on 31.5.2017 and it was observed that:-
1. The STP installed by the project proponent was in operation. During visit, the effluent samples from outlet of STP were collected. The analysis report received from Air & Water Lab, Ludhiana, the various parameters are within the permissible limits of the Board.
2. The project proponent is in process to shift the D.G sets on the roof of the City Centre. The D.G set of 35 KVA capacity fitted with canopy had already been placed on the roof and foundation work for other 3 D.G sets has been completed.
3. The project proponent has completed the laying of pipe distribution network for proper application of treated effluent onto land for irrigation.
4. The project proponent has submitted bank guarantee of Rs 5.0 lacs which is valid upto 30.4.2019 and has also renewed the bank guarantee of Rs 2.0 which is now valid upto 17.5.2018.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the project proponent upto 31.3.2019 with appropriate conditions please.
