(File No. R.O-II/LDH/CON/IND/1312):- It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category unit. The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. ZO-1/LDH/RO-2/WPC/2013/F-4582 dated 31.12.2013 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. ZO-1/LDH/RO-2/APC/2013/F-3471 dated 31.12.2013, were valid upto 30.06.2017.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE of this office on 10.07.2017 and observed that:-
1. The industry was not in operation during the visit.
2. The industry will undertake washing of empty cans/ barrels and has provided washing area of 10'X10'X12'.
3. The industry has installed ETP consisting of equalization tank, oil & grease trap, chemical dosing, bioreactors, tube settler, pre-filtration tank, sludge bed and dual media filter to treat effluent being generated from the washing process.
4. The treated effluent from the ETP is being fed into ultra-filtration membrane followed by two stage RO for water recovery and reuse in process and boiler feed.
5. The RO reject being generated is being further evaporated through cross flow evaporator provided by the industry. The concentrate from these evaporated is being evaporated in tray type dryer for recovery of solids.
6. The domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
7. The industry has installed 1 wood fired baby boiler.
8. The site of the industry falls in Industrial Area-B.
Keeping in view of above it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2019 with suitable conditions.
