Earlier the industry was granted varied consents under Water Act, 1974 vide no. O14LDH2CTOW959394 dated 21.03.2014 valid upto 30.09.2018 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. O14LDH2CTOA959549 dated 21.03.2014 valid upto 30.09.2018 for manufacturing of Bread @ 60 TPD & Bakery/Biscuit/Sweets @ 14 TPD under orange category.
Now, the industry has applied for varied ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for manufacturing of Bread & Allied @ 80 TPD, Rusk & Allied @ 05 MTD, Namkeen & Allied @ 05 MTD, Sweets & Allied @ 05 MTD & Bakery & Allied @ 05 MTD under red category with total treated effluent discharge of washing effluent @ 75 KLD & domestic effluent @ 125 KLD. The industry was visited by officer of this office on 14.08.2017 and observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in manufacturing breads & bakery products.
2. The industry has installed 02 HSD fired baby boiler of capacity 0.6 TPH & 0.4 TPH with an adequate stack height.
3. The industry has installed 15 HSD fired ovens.
4. The industry has installed 02 DG sets of capacity 500 KVA each with canopy and adequate stack height.
5. The industry has installed upgraded STP for treatment of increased quantity of effluent @ 75 KLD from washing section & domestic effluent @ 125 KLD.
6. The industry has constructed a new building in which it has installed bread making plant.
7. The industry has provided 1.5 acre land under plantation as per Karnal Technology, in which treated effluent is being discharged. No stagnation was observed during visit.
8. The industry has submitted latest approved building plan from competent person/authority.
9. The industry has increased its total fixed assets & now falls under medium scale as per policy of the Board.
10. The industry is mentioned at Sr. no. R.O-I/LDH/WA/511 in the inventory maintained by Regional Office-1, Ludhiana.
11. The industry is complying with the conditions of the previous consent granted under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 to it.
12. The competency to grant the consent lies with Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana
In view of above, it is recommended that varied ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2023 with suitable condition as per policy of the Board please.
