The industry is large scale orange category ( File no. 919) and the competency of case lies with Chief Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar. The registration details were checked and found correct. The documents uploaded by the industry were verified personally by me.
The industry was granted consent to operate both under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 12.12.2016. Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. The industry was visited by Er. Ravinder Bhatti, AEE of this office on 02.08.2017 and it was observed that :-
1. The industry is a shopping mall was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has installed STP for treatment of domestic effluent generated from process and same was in operation during visit.
3. The effluent samples from final outlet of the STP was collected during visit and the results of effluent sample collected are awaited.
4. The industry has installed water meter at final outlet of STP with reading as 6650 KL during visit. Also, energy meter has been installed with STP with reading as 79289 KWh.
5. The industry is discharging its treated effluent onto land for plantation area of 2463 sq mtr i.e 0.608 acres which is adequate (considering 70 KLD discharge within 1 acres of plantation area as per Karnal Technology) .
6. The industry has installed 1 no. DG set of capacity 380 KVA with canopy.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be decided as per results of effluent sample collected on 02.08.2017.
