The institute was granted 'consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 on 7/3/2012 (valid upto 6/9/2012) with one of the condition that the institute shall not carry out construction beyond covered area of 1,85,357 sq. ft. (17,220.22 sqm) and valid for generation of domestic effluent @ 25 KLD. Now, the institute has applied for renewal of 'consents to operate' for generation of domestic effluent @ 66.5 KLD. As per consent application, the built up area of the institute is 26,748 sqm, whereas, as per certificate dated 4/12/2017 given by the Architect, the built up area is 19,345 sqm. Moreover, the institute has constructed additional built up area of 2,125 sqm (19,345 – 17,220) in violation of the consent condition.
In view of above, if approved, the renewal consent applications submitted by the institute may be returned and advised to re-submit afresh consent applications as per revised details alongwith approved layout / building plan of present built up area of the institute. In the meantime, the institute may be afforded another opportunity of personal hearing to get justification regarding built up area of the institute (Competency Worthy CEE) please. |
