It is intimated that earlier the industry was given personal hearing before the Chief Environmental Engineer of the Board on 13.12.2017, wherein it was decided that:-
1. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office shall verify the statement given by the industry after 07 days & submit report alongwith recommendations for proceeding further in the matter.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 8.1.2018 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry has connected sludge collection pipe to sludge drying beds.
2. The industry has removed sludge deposited in plantation area.
3. The energy meter had reading of 244216 Kwh and flow meter reading was 67719 m3.
4. The industry has corrected its record.
5. The industry has removed D.G set which was without canopy.
6. The industry has provided 5 rotary filters in unit 1 and 7 rotary filters in unit 2 for control of fibers but with inadequate stack heights.
7. Further the industry has submitted DTP letter no. 3279 dated 2.11.2011 mentioning that the industry is in operation since 9.11.2006 and falls within Local Planning Area of Samrala. The site of the industry has not yet been classified under Master Plan, Samrala.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.9.2018 with condition that the industry will provide adequate stack heights on lint control mechanism.
