1. It is intimated that the hospital is a small scale unit with 30 beds.
2. The hospital was granted authorization vide no. R-235 dated 30.05.2015 valid upto 04.02.2018 for 30 beds and renewal of the authorization is under process with the Board.
3. Now, the hospital has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
4. The hospital was visited by Er. Varun Kumar JEE of this office on 03.03.2018 and it was observed that the hospital was in operation during visit.
5. The hospital is having bed capacity of 30 numbers. The hospital has made an agreement with Rainbow Environments Mohali for the treatment of bio medical waste generated at site, which is valid upto 04.02.2023 for 30 beds.
6. The industry has installed 2 no. DG set out of which one DG set is without canopy and place in the room which was not in use.
7. The hospital was discharging its lab effluent after treating with 10% hypo chloride solution into open drain of MC. The domestic effluent was discharging into open drain of MC.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that:-
1. The consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with usual terms and conditions and with special condition that hospital will not operate its DG set which is without canopy at site.
The consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with usual terms and conditions please. (Competency Environmental Engineer).
