The industry is a medium scale green category unit & engaged in process of knitting of yarn. The industry has applied for fresh 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. To verify the facts, the industry was visited by this office on 27.02.2018 & following observations were made:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in knitting process.
2. The industry has installed circular knitting machines.
3. There is no source of air pollution such as boiler/furnace etc.
4. The industry has installed 01 DG set of capacity 380 KVA with canopy & adequate stack height.
5. The industry is not generating any trade effluent.
6. Domestic effluent @ 4 KLD is being discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank.
7. The industry has submitted CLU certificate vide no. 634 dated 13.02.2017, as per which the site of the industry falls under the industrial zone as per Master Plan, Ludhiana (2007-21) & CLU is granted for industrial (Knitting/Dyeing & Processing Unit) purpose.
8. The industry has submitted building plan drafted by Competent Person under Factories Act.
9. The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
10. The competency to decide the case lies with Sr. Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Ludhiana.
In view of above, it is recommended that 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 31.12.2021 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board please.
