The present contention of the industry regarding operation of the washing unit since 2005 is in contradiction of industry's earlier information for starting the washing plant in 2014. The admission of the industry that wrong date was reported by them just to save the consent fees reflects the mind set of the industry. Once lying may be lying again. The bills/bank statement submitted by the industry are not authenticated by the CA and bankers. This is huge quantity. No report /details about the type of machinery used for washing is given. Further, as per RO report, 70 KLD of effluent is to be generated from jean/garment washing. This suggests that the industry might have high liquor ratio machines. Regional Office has not verified the water consumption/effluent discharge from the records to check the actual generation of effluents. With the washing of 300 number jeans, the quantity of effluent comes out as 233 Ltr per jean and about 500 Ltr per Kg (considering 450-500 Kg weight of jean). Thus, the data provided by the industry is not reliable. If approved, a show cause notice may be issued to the industry with opportunity of personal hearing before SEE, ZO-2, Ludhiana please. |
