• It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category unit and was engaged in the process of manufacturing of transmission belt by using rubber as raw material at site. The industry has commissioned at site without obtaining prior NOC /consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981.
• The industry has now applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board.
• The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 22.03.2018 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit and was engaged in the process of manufacturing of transmission belt at site.
2. The industry has installed one press, one calendar machine one kneader machine, and two mixture at site.
3. The industry has installed one wood fired baby boiler with stack and same was in operation. Wood was using as fuel in its baby boiler during visit.
4. The industry was generating only domestic effluent at site and same was discharging into sewer.
5. The industry has uploaded the area classification issued by ATP MC Jalandhar vide letter no. 3185 dated 29.01.2018 and as per certificate the site of the industry falls in general industrial zone as per Master Plan (2009-31).
6. The industry is listed at Sr. No. 3118 of inventory prepared by Regional Office, Jalandhar.
The industry falls in small scale red category and the competency to decide the case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that:-
1. Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with usual conditions please.
2. Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with usual conditions please.
