It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category unit and was engaged in the process of manufacturing of washing soap.
The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 under green category, which were valid upto 17.09.2010.
Now the industry applied for renewal consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board under orange category.
The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 26-03-2018 and it was observed as under:-
The industry was in operation and was engaged in the process manufacturing of washing soap at site.
The industry has two no. mixtures, two nos. pollter, 12 no. over headed tanks for the storage of fat etc at site.
The industry has installed two no. baby boilers with separate stacks and same were in operation at site. Wood was using as fuel in its baby boilers.
The industry has installed two nos. DG sets of capacity 125 KVA each with canopy at site.
There is only source of domestic effluent and has now provided septic tank for the treatment of domestic effluent generated at site and after this, effluent was discharging onto land for gardening/ irrigation purpose.
The industry has also already submitted a certificate issued by Tehsildar, Jalandhar-I to the industry vide their office letter dated 08.11.2006 and as per certificate, the site of the industry falls outside the lal lakir of village Dadha.
The industry is listed at Sr. No 2425 of inventory prepared by Regional Office, Jalandhar. The industry is small scale orange category and the competency of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar
1. Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that:-
1. Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2019 with suitable conditions and special conditions that :-
a. The industry shall submit area of classification certificate from the concerned Department within one month.
b. The industry will not discharge any trade effluent at site, please.
Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2019 with suitable conditions and special condition that the industry shall submit area of classification certificate from the concerned Department within one month, please (Competency SEE)
