Please peruse agenda note and note page sent by Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur for details of the case.
It is mentioned that the indsutry was given personal hearing u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 before the worthy Chairman on 12/03/2018, whrein, it was decided that:-
1. The industry shall adopt the Govt. Senior Secondary School, Jitwal Kalan, Tehsil Malerkotla, which is situated adjacent to the industry, for making plantation, land scaping and to provide benches alongwith smart classes for the school.
2. The industry shall apply for extension in validity of the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and the same will be extended upto 30/06/2018.
3. Another opportunity of personal hearing be again given to the industry on 09/04/2018 to discuss the progress of the upgradation made by the industry.
However, on the request of the industry, the date of personal hearing has been postponed to 16/04/2018.
Keeping in view of the detailed report/recommendations of Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur and the decision taken taken during the personal hearing on 12/03/2018, it is proposed that:-
Water & Air consents be extended to the industry upto 30/06/2018 with the same conditions as mentioned therein alongwith the additional conditions as under:-
1. The industry shall take all necessary steps including the measures suggested by their consultant to control the emissions and to ensure that no problem of pollution/public nuisance is caused in the area due to the operations of the industry.
2. The indsutry shall tackle the air pollution as per the study report with a committed timeline along with the assurance to achieve the prescribed standards.
3. The industry shall comply with the decisions of the personal hearing given to the industry from time to time.
