As per record, the university is large scale the university was granted consent to establish (NOC) under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 vide no. Zonal Office, Jalandhar/JAL/NOC/2013/716 dated 05.12.2013, valid upto 04.12.2014 for area of 201958.429 sq mtr and total built up area of 110690 sq mtr with total strength of student/ staff @ 5000 nos.
The university has applied for fresh consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
The university was visited by AEE of Regional office on 04-04-2018 and it was observed that;
1. Sh. Surinder Sharma, Site Engineer of the university was contacted at site. The university is having student/staff strength of 3707 and is having hostel strength of 1564 students.
2. The university has installed 3 No. DG sets, all are with canopies.
3. As per application of the university, total built up area of 32811.26 sq mtr and has obtained the approval from the Competent Authority of the same and remaining built up area 53549.597 sq mtr is under process for the approval of Competent Authority.
4. The university has obtained CLU for an area measuring 54.26 acres from CTP, Chandigarh vide their office memo no. 5363 dated 14.07.2010.
5. The Board has also filed a complaint against the university and its responsible persons in the year2015 for the violation of various provision of Water act, 1974 and EPA Act, 1986 and same is pending in the Hon'ble CJM Court Jalandhar and next date of hearting is fixed on 21.04.2018.
Regional office recommended that consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the university upto 31.03.2020 with suitable conditions and with special condition that the university shall submit total approved building plan from the Competent Authority within one month.
Keeping in view of the report/ verification made by Regional office, if approved, consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the university upto 31.03.2020 with suitable conditions and with special condition that the university shall submit total approved building plan for remaining area from the Competent Authority within one month.
