The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 both valid upto 30.06.2018.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 04.04.2018 and it was observed that:-
1 The Rice sheller was in operation during the visit.
2 The industry has installed 2 no. dryer section and 2 no. shelling section with separate cyclones as APCD along with stacks of adequate height.
3 The industry has provided wall more than 10 feet in front of rice husk discharge point which is 3’-6” feet higher than the discharge point of rice husk. The said wall is 35 feet on each side of husk discharge pipe & also 5 feet steel sheet is provided on brick work wall.
4 The industry has also provided diameter of the outlet of husk discharge pipe of 15 inch.
5 The industry has provided HDPE warp knitted fabric sheet made of virgin high density polymer to cover the rice husk.
6 The stack emission sample of 2 no. shelling sections were collected during visit and as per sample analysis report, SPM is 268 mg/Nm3 and 201 mg/Nm3 which are both within permissible limits prescribed by the Board.
7 No trade effluent is being discharged by the industry. The domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank.
Recommendations :-
Keeping In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2023 with suitable conditions.
