It is intimated that the industry is a small scale nickel-plating red category unit. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH2CTOW1632617 dated 06.08.2014 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH2CTOA1632393 dated 06.08.2014, upto 30.06.2018.
Now, industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 alongwith documents through OCMMS. The industry has installed few machinery for quality checking due to which the assets of the industry have increased from due to which the assets of the industry have increased from Rs. 78.97 Lacs to Rs. 125.02 Lacs. The industry has submitted Rs. 3,000/- as NOC regularization fee which is adequate.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by Er. Ravdeep Singh, AEE of this office on 05.05.2018 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation at the time of visit and is engaged in the manufacturing of trouser hooks, hinges etc.
2. The industry has installed power presses of various sizes to manufacture chips & hooks by using CR sheet as raw material.
3. The industry carries out nickel plating and has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process and the reading was noted to be 381.30 KL.
4. The water auditing for the industry was done. As per record the reading was 333.72 KL on 01.01.2018. As such the industry has consumed about 47.58 KL of fresh water in the year 2018. The industry has got lifted 49.9 KL of effluent till date to the CETP operator. As such the industry was found complying.
5. The industry has provided underground storage tank of capacity 8000 ltr for storage of its trade effluent and about 4000 Ltr. effluent was lying stored at the time of visit.
6. The industry has signed agreement with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana @ 8000 Ltr./Month for the treatment & disposal of trade effluent generated from process.
7. The industry has provided separate register and is maintaining the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
8. The domestic effluent of the industry is being discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank.
9. The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 82.5 KVA, which is equipped with canopy & stack of adequate height.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2022 with usual conditions.
