The industry is small scale, orange category unit. As per circular issued by the Board and as per decision of officer meeting held at Head Office Patiala on 08.05.2018 that the industries under orange category are to be granted consent without inspection on the basis of the application received through OCMMS.
The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 valid upto 30.06.2018. Now the industry has applied for renewal in validity of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981. The industry has not been visited and on the basis of documents submitted by the industry alongwith application, it has been observed that the industry has installed 1 no. cupola furnace with wet cap as APCD. The industry has submitted completion certificate of its APCD from PSCST Chandigarh vide no PSCST/CC/315 dated 06.09.2013. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. Entire cooling water is being re-circulated. The industry has submitted letter from EO MC Goraya, Jalandhar vide its letter no. 1221 dated 12.12.2013 addressed to M/s The Goraya Regd. Factory Owner’s association Goraya in which it is mentioned that there is not any Master Plan applicable in Nagar Panchayat Goraya and new Master Plan is being prepared which is under consideration.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30-06-2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and with special condition that the industry shall be bound to comply with provisions of Government/Master Plan as and when prepared.
