Earlier the industry was granted ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH1CTOW1236919 dated 28.05.2014 valid upto 30.06.2018 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH1CTOA1236892 dated 28.05.2014 valid upto 30.06.2018. Now, the industry has applied for renewal ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited by officer of this office on 06.06.2018 and observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit & is engaged in manufacturing of Paper stickers and metal labels.
2. The industry is generating trade effluent from anodizing of metal labels & washing of printing screens containing inks etc. but it is of very small quantum.
3. The industry has made an agreement @ 2000 ltr./month with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana (CETP) for lifting of its trade effluent.
4. The domestic effluent @ 0.8 KLD of the industry is being discharged into sewer.
5. The industry has maintained proper record of water meter reading and effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd and as per record the effluent lifted & water consumption is matched with each other.
6. The industry is doing washing of printer screens & anodizing of metal labels in same room and has provided collection tank of approximate capacity 3000 ltrs, which is sufficient if it got its effluent lifted once in a month.
7. The industry has no source of air pollution like boiler, furnace etc.
8. The industry has installed 1 no. D.G. set of 65 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
9. The industry is mentioned at Sr. no. R.O-I/LDH/WA/518 in the inventory maintained by Regional Office-1, Ludhiana.
10. The industry has submitted building plan prepared by approved Architect from Director of Factories, Punjab.
11. The industry is complying with the consent conditions granted to it under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that the Consent to Operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board please.
