It is submitted that industry has been granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which are valid up to 30/06/2018.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The hospital has deposited Rs. 54,000/- vide R.No. 83/4463 dtd 13/6/2018 under Water Act, 1974 & Rs. 54,000/- vide R.No. 82/4463 dtd 13/6/2018 under Air Act, 1981, which is adequate up to 30/6/2024 under both Acts. The hospital has also deposited Rs. 500/- vide R.No. 84/4463 dtd 13/6/2018 as an application fee. The industry has got analyzed its air emission sample and the analysis report issued by Zonal Office Lab, Jalandhar vide letter endst. No. 121-22 dated 11/1/2018 reveals that the particulate matter i.e. 248 mg/Nm3 is within limit as prescribed by the Board. Another effluent analysis report issued Zonal Office Lab, Jalandhar vide letter endst. No. 145-46 dated 17/1/2018 which reveals that the analyzed parameters i.e. pH=7.6, TSS=68 mg/l, COD=300 mg/l, BOD=72 mg/l, are also within limits as prescribed by the Board. The industry was visited by Officer of this office on 12/06/2018 to verify the latest status which is as under:
1. The industry is engaged in the process of manufacturing of media and writing printing paper and was not operation at the time of visit.
2. The industry has installed an ETP which was in operation and the outlet of the ETP is onto land for plantation.
3. The industry also re-using its process pulpy water into re-pulping and showering etc.
4. The industry has developed its plantation area to receive the treated effluent. The industry also planted new saplings along with the existing trees in the vacant area of plantation.
5. The industry has installed a Boiler of capacity 5 TPH equipped with multi cyclone as an APCD and provided with a stack of height 100 ft with adequate sampling arrangement.
6. The industry used rice husk as a fuel in the furnace of the Boiler.
7. A D.G. set of capacity of 63 KVA found lying in the premises, disconnected and not in use and without canopy.
If approved and in view of above, the application may be send to Zonal Office, Amritsar with recommendation that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be extended to the industry up to 30/6/2023.
