The industry is listed at Sr. No. 81 of inventory prepared by R.O. Jalandhar. The industry is a medium scale Red category unit and the Competency to decide the case lies with Chief Environmental Engineer. The industry was granted consent to establish (NOC for modernization) by converting the existing Batch wise Solvex Plant into continuous Solvex Plant by the addition of Horizontal Solvex Plant in place of old Vessels in the existing building dated 31.07.2017 valid upto 30.07.2018.
The industry has applied for varied Consent to operate under Water Act,1974 and Air, Act,1981. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 29.05.2018 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was not in operation during the visit due to off season.
2. The work of installation of proposed machinery i.e continuous Solvex Plant is complete at site. The industry has also one existing continuous Plant.
3. The industry has installed three Boilers of capacity 12.5 TPH, 10.5TPH and 8TPH with individual Trima Cyclone as APCD & common stack.
4. The industry has also installed two Thermopac of Capacity 12 Lac kcal & 8 Lac kcal with individual twin cyclone as APCD & Common stack.
5. The rice husk is being used as a fuel in all the furnaces and all the furnaces are FBC based.
6. The industry has installed 2 no. DG sets of capacity 600 KVA each and one no. DG set of 1200 KVA, with canopy and adequate stack height.
7. The industry has installed the ETP based on physical cum biological treatment, the treated effluent after ETP is being used onto land for plantation and partially being reused in cooling towers. The industry has not provided separate energy meter with the ETP and industry has been advised at site to provide sub meter with ETP.
8. The industry has done modernization in the existing building, as such the industry has not submitted approved building plan.
Keeping In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2023 with usual conditions and special condition that it will provide the separate energy meter with ETP and will maintain the record of Energy meter and outlet water meter.
