File Note: It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to establish (NOC) from pollution angle vide no. CTE/Fresh/PTA/2016/4591496 dated 30.09.2016 having validity upto 29.09.2017 for storage potatoes, Fruits & vegetables various eatable items @ 120000 nos./day under green category subject to certain conditions as mentioned therein. Now, the industry has applied for obtaining consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for the storage potatoes, Fruits & vegetables various eatable items @ 120000 nos./day under green category along with requisite documents. The industry had already deposited Rs. 60000/- vide R. No. 72/4466 dated 03.01.2017 under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Now, the industry has deposited Rs. 77000/- vide R.No. 79/4588 dated 14.06.2018 on account of water consent fee under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 17000/- vide R.No. 79/4588 dated 14.06.2018 on account of air consent fee under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate for 11 years i.e. up to 31.12.2028 against the value of fixed assets of Rs. 471.41 Lakh as per CA certificate dated 28.02.2018 submitted by it. The industry has also deposited Rs. 7000/- vide R.No. 79/4588 dated 14.06.2018 as NOC regularization fee. The industry was visited by the undersigned on 13.06.2018 to verify the contents of the application. During visit, it was observed as under: 1. The industry was in operation at the time of visit and is engaged in the business of storage of food products within its premises. 2. The industry will not generate & discharge any kind of trade effluent from its process. However, domestic effluent will be generated @ 1.2 KLD and same will be discharged onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank. 3. The industry is recirculating its entire cooling water. 4. The industry is not using any kind of solid fuel for any activity in its premises. 5. The industry has submitted its approved building plan. 6. The industry has installed one no. silent D.G. set of 200 KVA capacity equipped with canopy and a stack of adequate height. 7. The representative of the industry informed during visit that the solid waste, which will be generated from cold storage will be stored in its premises before lifting by private contactor. In view of the above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 31.12.2027 for storage potatoes, Fruits & vegetables various eatable items @ 120000 nos./day under green category subject to suitable conditions and additional conditions that: 1. The solid waste which will be generated from storage of various products in the cold storage, shall be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner and shall maintain record of generation & disposal of such waste. 2. The industry shall obtain permission from Central Ground Water Authority for abstraction of ground water. 3. The industry shall not generate and discharge any kind of trade effluent. It shall discharge only domestic effluent onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank. 4. The industry shall not install any boiler/furnace and shall not consume any fuel except HSD for DG set for burning purpose without the prior written permission of the Board. 5. The industry shall comply with the provisions of the Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989 as amended from time to time. Submitted for approval please.
