It is intimated that earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH2CTOW1393158 dated 20.6.2014 valid upto 30.6.2018.
Now the industry has applied for renewal of consent under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 alongwith documents through OCMMS. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.6.2023.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE of this office on 12.6.2018 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has provided 3 caustic dhols, 4 barrels, 2 power presses and 2 cutting machines and 1 grinder.
3. The industry has signed agreement with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana @ 6000 ltr/m for disposal & treatment of trade effluent generated from electroplating process.
4. The industry has provided water meter which had a reading of 65.19 KL during the visit and as per record and reading on 1.12.2017 was 25.86 KL with balance 730 Ltr effluent in store on 1.12.2017.
5. Thus 65.19 KL-25.86 KL=39.33 KL water was consumed since 1.12.2017 and 32500 ltr effluent have been lifted during in this period.
6. The industry has provided 3 tanks of capacity 1000 ltr each which had about 2200 ltr in store. Further, the washing drums had about 2000 ltr of wash water in store.
7. The industry is situated in non designated area and was established before the notification of Master Plan, Ludhiana and has not applied for renewal of consents. As per PPCB office order no. 21 dated 8.6.2018, the consents can be granted upto 30.6.2023.
8. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.6.2023 with suitable conditions please.
