It is intimated that, the industry is a small scale orange category forging unit and engaged in forging of M.S. (Side cutter, Flanger & Gears). Earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 vide no. ZO-II/LDH/RO-IV/WPC/2013/F-1094 dated 11.11.2013 valid upto 30.06.2018 and Air Act, 1981 vide no. ZO-II/LDH/RO-IV/APC/2013/F-968 dated 11.11.2013 valid upto 30.06.2018, subject to the certain conditions mentioned therein.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. To verify the facts, the industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 14.06.2018 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in forging of machinery parts (Side cutter, Flanger & Gears).
2. The industry has installed 03 nos of oil fired forging furnaces with separate hood and common adequate stack height but during the visit only one furnace was in operation. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate for 02 nos. of oil fired forging furnaces. The industry has submitted that one additional standby furnace is installed and there is no change in production after installation of 3rd furnace.
3. The industry has no DG set in the premises.
4. The industry has no source of trade effluent generation. Cooling water is re-circulated and only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
5. The gross fixed assets of the industry have been increased from Rs. 313.58 Lacs to Rs. 596.36 Lacs during the period from 31.12.2013 to 31.03.2018. The industry has given the detail of machinery added. The industry has added one oil fired forging furnace, old NKH Hammer, over head Crane, compressor, lathe machine etc. The industry has also submitted the fresh building plan prepared by the competent person under Factory Act, 1948.
6. The industry has also submitted year wise CA certificate and accordingly revised consents fee along with NOC Regularization fee, which is adequate upto 30.06.2023.
7. In compliance of Manufacturing, Storing and Import Of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989, the industry has submitted that they do not use any hazardous chemical mentioned in the Manufacturing, Storing and Import Of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989.
8. The industry is complying with the provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2022 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board and with the special condition that the industry will obtain permission from the Central Ground Water Authority for abstraction/use of fresh water.
