It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH2CTOW784882 dated 12.02.2014 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH2CTOA770383 dated 12.02.2014, which are valid upto 30.06.2018 for production of bicycle parts @ 700 Kgs/day.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
It is intimated that the site of the industry was visited by Er. Maninderjeet Singh, JEE of this office on 23.06.2018 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation at the time of visit.
2. The industry is carrying out nickel plating of cycle parts.
3. The industry has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process and the reading was noted to be 933.6 KL.
4. The water auditing for the industry was done. As per record the reading was 832.2 KL on 01.01.2018. As such the industry has consumed about 101.4 KL of fresh water in the year 2018. The industry has got lifted 96.2 KL of effluent till date to the CETP operator.
5. The industry has provided one collection tank of capacity 5000 ltr for storage of its trade effluent and about 4000 Ltr. effluent was lying stored at the time of visit.
6. The industry has made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana @ 22000 Ltr./Month for its disposal of trade effluent generated from process.
7. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana.
8. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
9. The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 125 KVA which is equipped with canopy and adequate stack height.
10. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be renewed to the industry for 30.06.2023 with usual conditions.
