It is intimated that earlier the industry was granted consent vide no. CTOW/Fresh/LDH2/2018/6734509 dated 01.01.2018 valid upto 01.07.2018 under Water Act, 1974 and electric connection of industry was also restored for six months.
The industry was visited by the JEE on 02.06.2018 in reference to the list received from M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana regarding less lifting of trade effluent against the MOU made with CETP operator and during visit it was observed as under :-
1. The industry is engaged in process of zinc plating of cycle and auto parts.
2. The industry has made an MOU with CETP operator of quantity 7000 Ltr/month. The industry has provided water meter on its fresh water supply line. The industry has provided two PVC storage tanks of capacity 1500 Ltr each for the storage of trade effluent and approx. 2000 Ltr of effluent was lying stored in these tanks. The industry could not produce the record of fresh water consumed in process area and trade effluent lifted to CETP operator. During the visit the industry was asked to submit the reasons of less lifting of trade effluent. But the industry has not submitted the authenticated proof in this regard.
3. Domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry.
