It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category unit. The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R15LDH2CTOW845337 dated 25.02.2014 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. R15LDH2CTOA845334 dated 25.02.2014, upto 30.06.2018 for production of zinc-plating of nut bolts on job basis @ 1500 Kg/day.
Now, industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 alongwith requisite documents through OCMMS.
Accordingly, the industry was again visited by Er. Ravdeep Singh, AEE of this office on 03.07.2018 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The industry is engaged in process of zinc plating of nut bolts on job basis.
3. The industry has signed agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana @ 7500 Ltr./Month for lifting and treatment of effluent generated from process.
4. The industry has provided water meter in the process area and its reading was noted to be 45.75 KL during the visit.
5. The water auditing of the industry was done. As per record the reading was 7.39 KL on 01.01.2018. As such the industry has consumed 38.36 KL of fresh water in the year 2018. The industry has got lifted 36.3 KL to the M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana.The industry has provided one underground tank of capacity 2000 ltr for storage of its trade effluent and about 1200 Ltr. effluent was lying stored at the time of visit. The rest of the effluent can be accounted for evaporation losses.
6. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
7. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
8. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
The industry is situated in Partap Nagar which is industrial mix zone as per Master Plan, Ludhiana. Now, the Board has issued order vide no. 21 dated 08.06.2018 regarding continuation of operation of Industrial establishments in mixed Land use/non-designated area of Ludhiana upto 15 years from date of notification of the master plan which were established before the notification of the Master Plan, Ludhiana.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed to the industry for 30.06.2023 with usual conditions.
