Subject: Renewal of Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981- M/s Kharar Rice mill, Village Tripari, Tehsil Kharar, Distt. SAS Nagar Nagar.
It is submitted that the rice sheller was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. RO/SASNagar/WPC/RS/13/R-105 dated 30/08/2013 and the Air Act, 1981 vide no. RO/SASNagar/APC/RS/13/R-137 dated 30/08/2013 both valid upto 31.03.2014 for processing of paddy @ 36 TPD. The validity of said consents were lastly extended upto 30.06.2018.
Now the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, alongwith compliance report, CA certificate, undertaking etc. The rice Sheller had deposited Rs. 15000/- Vide R. No. 40/4614 dated 20/06/2018 (Rs. 7500/- each on account of water & air consent fee) against the fixed assets of Rs. 14.69 lacs as on 11/06/2018 as per CA certificate, which is adequate upto 30.06.2023.
It is added here that rice shellers are covered under ‘Orange category’ and, as per the office order dated 02.02.2016, issued by the Board, the green and orange category of industries shall be granted renewal of consents under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 without visiting the site of the industry. The site of the industry shall be visited during next shelling season.
It is added here that along with the online application from, the industry has submitted undertaking is reproduced as under: -

We have followed the all directions/guidelines as specified by pollution control board such as below:
1. All brick jails are closed.
2. We have provided proper storage facility for rice husk. (Closed storage).
3. All dust point are covered by hood and connected to the cyclone through pipes.
4. All roads are pacca with brick to avoid or emitting dust by transportation of vehicles.
5. Industry has also plant the plantation around the boundary wall for control of dust.
6. Ash from drier dispose off proper as per environmental sound management system.
We also comply all condition as direct by the board
In view of above, the industry may be granted renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 30.09.2022 subject to suitable conditions.
