It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category shopping mall. The registration detail were checked and found correct. The documents uploaded by the industry were verified and found correct.
Earlier the shopping mall has granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 Vide no. O14JALCTOW742326 dated 05-02-2014 valid upto 30-06-2018 and Vide no. O14JALCTOA742294 dated 05-02-2014 valid upto 30-06-2018 respectively.
Now the shopping mall has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The shopping mall has deposited Rs. 75,000/- vide R/No. 41/4724 dated 06.07.2018 under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 Rs. 75,000/- vide R/No. 40/4724 dated 06.07.2018 under Air Act, 1981 which are adequate upto 30-06.2023.
The shopping mall was visited by the AEE of this office on 12.7.2018 and observed that the shopping mall is situated beside Police line Road, jalandhar. The representative submitted that the occupancy of mall is about 40%. The domestic effluent was being discharged in to M.C sewer. The shopping mall has installed 3 nos. D.G set of with canopy each. The shopping mall has already submitted the letter from municipal corporation Jalandhar regarding sharing the cost of providing estate water supply and sewerage service by individual institutions. The industry is complying with the consent condition granted under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30-06.2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
