It is intimated that earlier the industry M/s Gurdip Cycle Industries, Station Road, Dhandari Kalan, Ludhiana was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH2CTOW1382372 dt 2.7.2014 valid upto 30.6.2018 and No. R15LDH2CTOA2960065 dt 24.7.2015 valid upto 30.6.2020 for the production capacity of Brake Chimti= 25000 No/d, Cliper Brake=2000 No/d, Chain Wheel =500 No/d, Seat Clip= 1000 no/d, Other @ 1500 no/d. Further, the industry’s is sister concern i.e M/s Ashoka Industrial Fastener, Dhandari Kalan, Ludhiana which was established within the same premises has been granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, valid upto 30.6.2019. Now, these 2 units have been merged into one single unit.
Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 alongwith documents through OCMMS in the name and style of M/s Gurdip Cycle Industries, Station Road, Dhandari Kalan, Ludhiana. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.9.2023.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE of this office on 5.7.2018 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and is engaged in manufacturing of bicycle parts.
2. The industry has provided machining section, electroplating section, 2 pickling sections, 2 phosphating sections, one zinc barrel section and one caustic dhol section, powder coating, painting section etc, 1 debrassing section.
3. The industry has made revised agreement with M/s JBR Tech Pvt Ltd, Ludhiana @ 27000 ltr/m for the disposal of trade effluent generated from process.
4. The industry has provided water meter for all polluting processes and total 7 water meters are provided. The readings of the water meters installed as per agenda note attached please.
5. The industry has provided 3 powder coating booths with one electric oven. Inbuilt cyclone is provided as APCD.
6. The industry has provided 5 brazing furnaces which were in operation for which wet scrubber has been provided as APCD but it was not in operational condition as repair was going on.
7. The industry has provided 4 paint booths with water curtain and has provided 4 diesel fired furnaces.
8. The industry has provided one diesel fired boiler using diesel @ 35 ltr/hr and has provided 3 D.G sets of capacity 125 KVA(2 no.) and 200 KVA (1 no.) fitted with canopies and adequate stack heights.
9. The industry has provided 88 power presses of various capacities.
10. The industry has lifted 68000 ltr effluent to M/s JBR Tech Pvt Ltd, Ludhiana in this period.
11. The industry has provided 3 collection tanks of capacities 18000 ltr, 16000 ltr and 6000 ltr which had around 22000 ltr in store.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that varied consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.6.2023 with suitable conditions please.
