It is intimated that the above said industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 31.03.2013.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 through OCMMS. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 06.07.2018 and observed that the industry was in operation. The industry was engaged in the manufacturing of Pipe Fittings. The industry has installed 2no. shot blasting machine with bag house filter as APCD. The industry has installed 2 no. hot dip galvanizing furnaces with inadequate stack height. The industry has installed 3 no. oil fired annealing furnaces with adequate stack height.. The industry has installed 1 no. induction furnace with bag house filter as APCD and sampling arrangement. The stack emission sample was carried out during visit and as per analysis report the concentration of particulate matter is 131 mg/nm3 which is within the limits prescribed by the Board. The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 50 KVA placed in acoustic room. There is no source of trade effluent generation only domestic effluent discharge into sewer. The industry has submitted approved building plan from Director of Factory Act, Punjab. The industry has submitted DTP certificate vide letter no. 838 dated 21.04.2011 mentioning that the industry falls in General Industrial Zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031. The industry has submitted consent fee under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 which is adequate upto 16.08.2023. The industry is listed at Sr. No. 1243 of inventory prepared by Regional Office, Jalandhar. The industry is small scale orange category and the competency of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be refused.
