The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 vide no. ZO-I/LDH/RO-2/WPC/2011/F-3765 dated 13.09.2011 extended upto 30.06.2018 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. ZO-I/LDH/RO-2/APC/2011/F-2752 dated 13.09.2011 extended upto 30.06.2018.
Now the industry has applied for renewal of 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited by officer of this office on 20.07.2018 & it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has installed 01 electric induction furnace of capacity 1500 KGD with bag house filter as APCD along with adequate stack height.
3. The industry has submitted analysis report from Board's approved lab as per which conc. of SPM is 112 mg/Nm3 against the prescribed limit of 150 mg/Nm3.
4. The industry has installed 01 DG set of capacity 10 KVA with canopy & adequate stack height.
5. The industry has does not generate any trade effluent.
6. The industry re-circulates entire cooling water & domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank.
7. The industry has not increased its production load as well as pollution load.
8. The industry is mentioned at Sr. no. R.O-I/LDH/WA/943 in the inventory maintained by Regional Office-1, Ludhiana.
9. The industry is complying with various provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
10. The competency to decide the application lies with Sr. Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana.
In view of above it is recommended that 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be renewal up to 30.06.2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board please.
