It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH2CTOW1159874 dated 06.05.2014 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH2CTOA1159933 dated 06.05.2014, upto 30.06.2018 for production of U Bolt/U Clump & Bolts @ 10 TPD.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
It is intimated that the site of the industry was visited by Er. Ravdeep Singh, AEE of this office on 28.07.2018 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in manufacturing of U Bolts.
2. The industry has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process area and reading noted to be 81.20 KL.
3. The water auditing for the industry was done. As per record the reading was 91.30 KL on 01.01.2018. As such the industry has consumed about 10.10 KL of fresh water in the year 2018. The industry has got lifted 07 KL of effluent till date to the M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana. Around 2 Kl effluent was lying stored in the industry.
4. The industry has made agreement with re-processors of spent acid i.e. M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana @ 1000 Ltr./Month for its spent acid.
5. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana.
6. Thee industry has installed forging press with reheating furnace. The industry is using HSD as fuel and has provided stack of adequate height.
7. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
8. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
The industry is situated in Partap Nagar which is industrial mix zone as per Master Plan, Ludhiana. Now, the Board has issued order vide no. 21 dated 08.06.2018 regarding continuation of operation of Industrial establishments in mixed Land use/non-designated area of Ludhiana upto 15 years from date of notification of the master plan which were established before the notification of the Master Plan, Ludhiana.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be renewed to the industry for 30.06.2023 with usual conditions.
