The industry has applied for fresh ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 alongwith documents. Accordingly, the industry was visited by AEE on 02.08.2018 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the servicing and washing of cars. But washing process was not in operation at the time of visit.
2. The industry has installed ETP for treated of its trade effluent generated from washing section. The industry has submitted analysis report from approved lab of the Board and as per pH = 7.38, TSS = 30 mg/L, COD = 95 mg/L, BOD = 16 mg/L, Oil & grease = <3.0. The parameters are within the prescribed limits.
3. The industry has not submitted the CLU regarding designation of area. However, the industry has submitted building plan approved by M.C. Ludhiana on 20.10.2009, the said plan is for commercial building as indicated on said map itself, which indicate that the M.C. has approved the building plan for commercial activities. (map attached)
4. The industry has installed D.G set of capacity 125 KVA, with canopy.
5. There is sewer line laid in the area, but the workshop is yet to connect with the sewer line. It was informed by it during visit that connection will be made shortly.
6. The industry has submitted building plan & stability certificate stamped by Er. Santokh, the approved person by Directors of Factories, Punjab.
In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2019 with usual conditions and special condition that the industry shall obtain the varied consent to operate for change of mode of disposal after connected with M.C. sewer.
