File Note: The proceedings of the personal hearing held on 10/08/2018, has been conveyed to the institute and EE, RO, Sangrur, in which the following decisions were taken:- 1. The institute shall maintain proper record of the water consumed and trade effluent discharged alongwith energy meter reading for the operation of the STP. The treated waste water shall be used on green area/parks and plantation along the boundary wall within the premises of the institute. 2. The consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 be granted to the institute for one year i.e. upto 30/06/2019 with the additional condition as per Sr. no. 1 above. 3. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur shall visit the institute to verify the quantity of water consumed / trade effluent discharged alongwith disposal of treated waste water for further extension in the validity of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. 4. Further action will be taken on receipt of report from the Regional Office. Keeping in view of the above decisions of the personal hearing, it is proposed that: - Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the institute upto 30/06/2019 with standard conditions (auto generated) alongwith the following specific conditions: 1. The institute shall maintain proper record of the water consumed and trade effluent discharged alongwith energy meter reading for the operation of the STP. The treated waste water shall be used on green area/parks and plantation along the boundary wall within the premises of the institute. 2.The institute shall operate and maintain the STP regularly and efficiently, so as to achieve the effluent standards, consistently. 3. The institute will ensure that it will not discharge its effluent into any River / Drain / Choe etc. directly / indirectly, under any circumstances. 4. The institute shall obtain permission for abstraction of ground water as per guidelines issued by the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) please. (Small Scale-Orange Category, Competency-SEE)
