The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH1/2017/5825368 dated 27.07.2017 valid up to 31.08.2018 & Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH1/2017/5825353 dated 27.07.2017 valid up to 31.08.2018.
Now the industry has applied for renewal of 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited by this office on 26.07.2018 & observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in manufacturing of Pullovers & T-shirts.
2. The industry has one baby boiler of capacity 0.2 TPH with adequate stack height in which HSD is being used as fuel.
3. The industry has one D.G. set of capacity 82 KVA with adequate stack height & canopy.
4. The industry is discharging its trade effluent into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
5. The industry has already submitted building plan prepared by approved Architect of Director of Factories, Punjab.
6. The industry falls in mix land use zone as per Master Plan, Ludhiana (2007-2031). However the industry has submitted letter from ATP, Ludhiana vide no. 1498 dated 06.08.2018 as per which the industry is now allowed to operate at said location upto August 2023
7. The industry is complying with the previous consent conditions granted to the industry under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981
8. The industry is mentioned at Sr. no. R.O-I/LDH/WA/468 in the inventory maintained by Regional Office-1, Ludhiana.
9. The competency to grant the consent lies with Sr. Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana.
In view of the above, it is recommended that 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be renewed up to 31.08.2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board & with special condition that the industry will shift to designated zone as & when desired by the competent authority.
