The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 vide no. R14LDH1CTOW890852 dated 04.03.2014 valid upto 30.06.2018 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. R14LDH1CTOA879076 dated 04.03.2014 valid upto 30.06.2018. Now, the industry has applied for renewal 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 23.08.2018 & observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation during the visit & engaged in manufacturing of bicycle tubes.
2. The industry has 1 no. wood fired baby boiler of capacity 1.5 TPH with cyclone separator as APCD and stack of adequate height.
3. The industry has now provided hood/bag filter house as APCD with to control the process emissions in mandling section.
4. The industry has got its stack emission samples analyzed from the approved lab of the Board.
5. The industry has 1 no. DG set of capacity 180 KVA with canopy adequate stack.
6. The industry is re-circulating its process effluent generated from washing of tubes. The cooling water is re-circulated through circulation tank & only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
7. The site of industry falls in Focal point, Ludhiana.
8. The industry has already submitted the building plans approved from competent person under Director of Factories, Punjab.
In view of the above, it is recommended that the industry may be granted renewal 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 under red category valid upto 30.06.2023 with suitable conditions please.
