It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. R16LDH2CTOW3595866 dated 17.02.2016, upto 30.06.2018 for production of bright bar (labour job) @ 4.965 TPD.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS.
It is intimated that the site of the industry was visited by Er. Ravdeep Singh, AEE of this office on 01.09.2018 and it was observed that: -
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the process of wire drawing on job basis & carries out pickling of raw material by using Sulphuric acid.
2. The industry has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process area and reading noted to be 68.11 KL.
3. The water auditing for the industry was done. As per record the reading was 60.30 KL on 01.04.2018. As such the industry has consumed about 7.81 KL of fresh water in the since 01.04.2018. The industry has got lifted 08 KL of effluent till date to the M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana.
4. The industry has made enhanced agreement with re-processors of spent acid i.e. M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana @ 2000 Ltr./Month for its spent acid.
5. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Unit-II), Kohara, Ludhiana.
6. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
7. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
The industry is situated in Partap Nagar which is industrial mix zone as per Master Plan, Ludhiana. Now, the Board has issued order vide no. 21 dated 08.06.2018 regarding continuation of operation of Industrial establishments in mixed Land use/non-designated area of Ludhiana upto 15 years from date of notification of the master plan which were established before the notification of the Master Plan, Ludhiana.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be renewed to the industry for 30.06.2023 with usual conditions.
