It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. ZO-I/LDH/RO-II/WPC/2013/F-4535 dated 01.11.2013 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. ZO-I/LDH/RO-II/APCD/2013/F-3424 dated 01.11.2013, upto 30.06.2018 for production of hand tools and auto parts @ 75000 Pcs./day.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS for one year only. The industry has rented part of its premises to M/s National Industries which is engaged in manufacturing of auto parts. The industry has removed all its forging machinery from site and is only operating plating machinery. The industry is going to close down all its operation in the name of M/s Campbell International within one year.
It is intimated that the site of the industry was visited by Er. Ravdeep Singh, AEE of this office on 21.09.2018 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the process of finishing of hand tools.
2. The industry has installed one nickel-plating section and has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process area and reading noted to be 35.27 KL.
3. The water auditing for the industry was done. As per record the reading was 11.29 KL on 01.06.2018. As such the industry has consumed about 23.9 KL of fresh water in the since 01.06.2018. The industry has got lifted 21.5 KL of effluent till date to the M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana.
4. The industry has made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana @ 15,000 Ltr./Month for its generation of trade effluent from process.
5. The industry has provided storage tank of capacity 5000 Ltr. for its effluent & about 3000 Ltr. was stored in it.
6. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana.
7. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
8. the industry has provided 02 annealing furnaces out of which one is electrically operated and one is gas fired.
9. The industry has installed 02 shot blasting machines which provided with inbuilt bag house filter as APCDs each.
10. The industry has installed one DG of capacity 500 KVA which is provided with canopy.
11. The industry is complying with consent conditions granted to it.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed to the industry upto 30.06.2019 with usual conditions.
